Party FAQs

 

If you have any questions, please check out our FAQs to see if we can answer some of your questions now.

How long do your parties run for?

Our parties run for 1- 1/2 hours unless specified in the party information.

You are welcome to extend your party an extra half hour (if time allows) for an additional cost (with the exception of the Toddler Party which runs for 1 hour, no extensions possible). This is to be arranged at the time of booking.

What is the minimum number of guests allowed?

All party prices are for 10 chefs, you can have less than that if you prefer but you will still be charged at the 10 chef minimum price.

What is the maximum number of guest I can invite?

We like to keep our parties to a maximum of 40 chefs, although this depends on the age and nature of the party. If your guest list is larger than this, please call to discuss.

A guest that I am inviting has an allergy, what should I do?

Please let the parent of that child know that we need to speak with them. Allergy forms need to be submitted via of website. We take allergies very seriously and need to be notified at least 5 days prior to the party or we will not be able to cater for that child's needs.

The birthday child has an allergy, can you cater for the entire party to be free from any food that they are allergic to?

Absolutely, yes we can. We can tailor every party to suit the individual. However an extra charge will occur as items such as gluten-free ingredients, dairy-free substitutes, etc. cost more. An alternative is to offer only the child with allergy the allergy free ingredients and all other child remain on the original recipes.

How do I book my child's party?

Fill in our online booking form with all your details, including desired dates and extras. We will respond by email with the available times and dates we have that are closest to your requested date. Please note this can take up to a week so please be patient. If we do not offer the date or dates that you request, it is because it is not available. 

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, we require a 50% deposit (of the base cost for the party package you have selected) to hold your booking. Payment is required within 24 hours of receiving our booking confirmation, or the tentative booking is released and can be booked by others.

Do you supply invitations?

Yes. When you make your deposit payment, you let us know in the Special Instructions field how many invitations you would like and we will send them straight out to you.

Do you supply party bags?

Yes. Our party bags are $5 and can be purchased online at the time of your booking. Contents of the party bags may change from time to time, but they typically contain a cooking item (such as a spatula, whisk, or biscuit cutter), a Kids Pantry tattoo, a balloon, some old-fashioned lollies, and a lollipop.

Can you supply a birthday cake?

Kids Pantry is proud to partner with talented cake creators to bring you the perfect cake for your special occasion.

Can I bring my own cake?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own cake, for which there would be a $10 cake fee.

What do the parents do while the kids are cooking?

Parents are welcome to drop off or stay. However if they are staying we have a very strict OH&S policy that no more than 2 parents at any given time are in the kitchen with the children. Parents will be invited to join the children when it is time to cut the cake towards the end of the party.

Are there coffee or tea facilities available?

Yes. We offer a parent package for those who wish to cater for the parents while they wait for their junior chefs. Please see our parent package offer. Please note we do not allow any food other than the birthday cake to be brought onto our premises, due to allergy restrictions.

If you are uncertain if parents will stay and don't want to commit to a parent package, we can also offer teas and coffees on demand at cafe prices, so you only pay for those who end up staying. Please note that this cost does not include food.

When are the final numbers and payment required?

You will be contacted a couple of days prior to your party to request final details.

These details include final numbers attending, any allergy information (including submission of our online allergy form by all parents of those children with such allergies or intolerances), and whether you require extras such as party bags, parent package, etc.

Once this information is received, we will calculate the final balance which can then be paid over the phone or on the day.

Deposits are non-refundable so please make note of our refund, cancellation and change-of-date policies in our Terms and Conditions, which you will find on the booking/payment form.
